    Very useful, you saved 1 day work!!!

    To get it working on Sql Server 2008 R2 10.50.1600 just change the user syntax for this one:

    –I changed the password because of SQL SERVER strong password policy
    create login recovery with password = ‘Temp123_a’;
    go
    exec sp_addsrvrolemember ‘recovery’,’sysadmin’;
    go

    Great tip! A more simple way is use the SQL Server Password Changer program to unlock sa password.
